Rotterdam Architecture Award for EMC Educational Centre
The Education Center Erasmus MC Rotterdam has won the Rotterdam Architecture Award. From a shortlist of 25 entries, the jury has chosen the design of Claus & Kaan Architecten.
The jury verdict says: ‘The interplay of the building program and the high architectural quality promotes the city of Rotterdam as the home of a medical institution with international appeal for talent.’
On behalf of JP van Eesteren, Octatube has realised a number of iconic features within the project: 2 large glass zigzag facades, the glass balustrades of the large ‘bookshelf’, and all (fire resistant) interior glass fronts.
