Octatube currently works on it's first structural timber gridshell. The Campus Canopy, a design by Benjamin Thomas of MOLA Architecture, will come to life over the course of the coming year.
Octatube covered one of the monumental courtyards of the Shell C30 building in The Hague with an impressive and unique gridshell. A challenging task in engineering, construction, production and installation. This project therefore received a lot of attention in the trade journals. For example in Bouwwereld and Bouwen met Staal.
Octatube always pays much attention to the safety and health of everyone working for us or with us. We are therefore proud to have been awarded the ISO 45001 certificate, which brings us another step closer to improving our safety culture.
It took years to design, months to assemble in factory, but only 2 days to construct on-site. Iris Rombouts (Octatbue) and Chris Noteboom (Arup) reveal the fascinating engineering behind the curved glass façade ‘boxes’ of P.C. Hooftstraat in Amsterdam.
Find out the conclusions of a series of inhouse redundancy test on glass fins we did full scale for several projects as described in our Challenging Glass Paper 'Redundancy tests on glass fins'.
At the TU Delft campus, a new educational building is being build: Echo. Octatube is responsible for the continuous glass facades and roof lights.
