Studio M2 München

In Munich´s railway zone Lambert Wohnbau GmbH realises a large student housing complex with 309 apartments and an underground parking. The Studio M2 project is one of the capstones in a large urban redevelopment. Octatube is involved in the design, engineering, production and installation of three glass acoustic screens. The screens must protect the courtyards against traffic noise.

The sound barriers have a self-supporting steel structure with suspended trusses on the inside in the shape of fish bones. This elegant construction ensures that the view from the balconies and the apartments is not obstructed. The design has been drawn in close collaboration with the architect (Dotter + Payer Architekten BDA).
Glass sliding doors provided access to the courtyards. Together the three structural glazed screens have an area of 1500 square meters.

Octatube is commissioned by Josef Riepl Unternehmen für Ingenieur- und Hochbau, who is to complete the building in the beginning of 2015. Studio M2 in Munich is one of the projects marking the renewed activities of Octatube in Germany.
