Contract: glass building parts Mauritshuis

Octatube has been granted the job to realise different glass building parts for the Mauritshuis museum in The Hague,  that is currently radically being reburbished after a design by Hans van Heeswijk architecten.

It concerns a round glass elevator shaft that will bring future visitors from street level downwards. Here, a new underground foyer will connect the museum to the adjacent building, Plein 26. The new entrance has a 4.5 meters high glass facade with glass fins. 14 walkable glass floor lights will illuminate the new entrance space.
In the new design, the entrance has been moved to the main courtyard, giving the Mauritshuis - with its international allure - the exposure it deserves.
