Symposium Technical Innovations in Architecture

Mick Eekhout will be among a panel of experts to debate technical innovations in architecuture during a symposium. The symposium takes place on the 28th of October and is organized by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW).

The symposium´s aim is to formulate an answer to the demand of architects for innovative products and technical systems, solutions and products. What are the engineers’ answers to architects’ requests for innovative technologies? What have been the experiences with technical innovations in free-form architecture? What are the results of innovations in architecture? The symposium will be closed by a lecture on what innovation in architecture has brought us up to now.
The aim of the event is to bring scientists, engineers, architects and artists together. Also students and anyone who is interested in these disciplines are welcome to participate. More information on the website of the KNAW.

The full panel of experts include: Francine Houben, KNAW member and creative director of Mecanoo, Mick Eekhout, KNAW member and director of Octatube, Fristo van der Steen, Associate at Mecanoo, Caroline Hummels, Faculty of Industrial Design at the Eindhoven University of Technology and Bernard Hulsman, architecture critic and editor at NRC.
