The glass atrium connects an existing office tower with two new office buildings and functions as a central hall for visitors. This glass building part includes a facade, a low atrium roof and two front facades.
The weights of the lower roof, stairs and terraces are transferred to the concrete by means of tensile rods in the visible steel structure. The weights of the upper roof and the facade are carried by an integrated truss. Both roofs are subdivided in smaller parts, that each have a secundary structure of stainless steel tensile cables.
The two front facades have lens shaped welded tubular sections as main structure. The glass panels are structurally bonded to Quattro nodes.
